UNITING CHURCH ADULT FELLOWSHIP (Victoria and Tasmania)

OUR PURPOSE:

The Uniting Church Adult Fellowship has as its major purpose to communicate and share God’s love within the church family and to those outside the church. The assumption and motivation behind the UCAF in local groups, presbyteries and synod is that they exist for the purpose of serving, not being served, of giving, not receiving. In the pursuit of this purpose the UCAF will give special attention to four major areas of ministry:

  • providing fellowship opportunities for men and women of all ages and ensuring that those with pastoral care needs are given priority;
  • encouraging one another to recognise, develop and use their gifts in ministries of service;
  • stimulating one another in spiritual growth and discipleship;
  • developing an awareness of the importance of faith sharing in local communities and nationally.

OUR AIMS:

  • To provide an accepting atmosphere where people are enabled to discover and express the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • To encourage people to share a deeper faith.
  • To encourage involvement in the total mission of the church through prayer, service and finance.
  • To provide a network for adult groups within the Uniting Church

THE COUNCIL:

The UCAF Council comprises representatives from each presbytery as well as elected and coopted members. The Council meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Synod Centre, 130 Little Collins Street, Melbourne.

 The Council supports adult groups by:

  • Producing the monthly magazine for Christian small groups, NetWork
  • Providing information about opportunities for mission
  • Raising funds for special needs projects through the Stamp Fund (Sammy Stamp)
  • Producing educational resources and worship services
  • Providing speakers for groups and regional gatherings
  • Linking groups and providing information of activities of interest in regional areas
  • Sponsoring opportunities for fellowship and learning through
